37.4% of Bitcoins Untouched for Four Years, Investor Confidence Grows
37.4% of the total Bitcoin supply has remained untouched for over four years, suggesting an increasing conviction among long-term holders about the strength of BTC. The high percentage of untouched Bitcoins may indicate investor confidence in the long-term potential of the cryptocurrency. Some investors are counting on significant gains in the future, viewing Bitcoin as digital gold and a hedge against loss of purchasing power. However, not all holders have clear motivations, and some Bitcoins may be inaccessible due to lost private keys or the death of owners. The high share of Bitcoins in circulation may limit market liquidity, which, with sustained demand, could favor price increases, but does not guarantee them. Long-term holding of BTC may reduce selling pressure during corrections, but limited liquidity can lead to sharp price movements. The increase in the share of Bitcoins out of circulation is not a definitive proof of market maturity nor a guarantee of BTC price increases.
