90% of XRP Ledger Transactions to Be Processed by AI Agents

Dennis Angel, CTO of the XRP Ledger Foundation, stated that approximately 90% of transactions occurring on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) network will be processed by automated AI agents within the next decade. Angel is working on building IOU tokens and dedicated payment channels for MPT to enable AI agent-based payments. IOU tokens are a form of promissory note issued on the XRPL, while MPT is a project aimed at expanding the functionality of IOUs. This feature operates similarly to credit card transaction approval mechanisms, streamlining payment and settlement processes. Additionally, the introduction of lending protocols is being pursued to generate on-chain revenue within the XRPL ecosystem, providing investors with opportunities to deposit funds and recover profits through a single asset vault structure. Angel emphasized that the XRPL will evolve into an efficient financial ecosystem by incorporating core functionalities of traditional finance.
