Abstract Founder Removes Identification, Core Developer Transfers Funds
On October 1, the Ethereum L2 Abstract chain, under Pudgy Penguins' parent company Igloo Inc., faced community controversy. Founder Luca Netz removed the Abstract identification from his X account, and core developer Cygaar's associated wallet is transferring funds out of the Abstract chain. Cygaar has not spoken on his X account since June 2026. In August of this year, the head of the Abstract chain's ecosystem and the product lead have already left, and the official account has entered a semi-dormant state, raising community concerns that Abstract may soon shut down. As of the time of publication, there has been no official response.
