Alpha Chips Expands ASIC Orders in the U.S.
Alpha Chips is pushing to expand its overseas order base targeting the custom semiconductor markets in the U.S., Japan, and China. After restructuring its business to focus on AI semiconductors and high-performance computing, the company plans to broaden its global project order pipeline. On the 24th, Alpha Chips announced that it will accelerate the establishment of a global project order pipeline centered around major custom semiconductor markets. ASICs are semiconductors designed for specific customers or applications, used in AI computations, high-performance computing, and system-on-chips for automotive and robotics. The company has restructured its business to focus on high-value-added semiconductor fields such as AI and high-performance computing by streamlining non-core operations. It plans to leverage its experience as a first-generation design solution partner for Samsung Electronics' foundry to increase touchpoints with overseas clients. Established in 2002, Alpha Chips is a system semiconductor design and service company that went public on the KOSDAQ in 2010. The company is expanding its design capabilities into advanced fields such as AI semiconductors, AI SoCs for autonomous driving and robotics, and SoCs for 5G communications, based on its experience in ASIC and system-on-chip design. Alpha Chips aims to accelerate its overseas order expansion with the U.S. market as its core base. The company emphasizes one-stop design participation from product planning to mass production, stating that the role of DSP with customer-tailored semiconductor design capabilities is becoming increasingly important.
