Odysseas, founder of Phylax System, warned of a possible Binance hack involving EIP-7702, which can turn a wallet into a sweeper. He stated that 63 tokens, including 167464 ETH and 1615 million USDT, were transferred from a Binance-labeled wallet just 3 minutes and 24 seconds after a signed delegation was established. EIP-7702 allows a standard externally owned account (EOA) to execute delegated code permanently, enabling asset transfers without further signatures from the wallet owner. Odysseas noted that the delegated contract contained a hardcoded operator address funded by Tornado Cash, and read-only tests indicated that execution by unrelated callers was rejected. He suggested that the attack could have been facilitated by a compromised private key or a malicious authorization signature from the wallet owner, although the method of obtaining those signatures is unclear.
