BitGo Customer Base Grows by 26%, Assets Increase by 31%
BitGo's platform customer base in Q2 2026 increased by 26% compared to the same period last year, while standardized assets rose by 31%. This growth is attributed to an increase in the adoption of custody and staking services by institutional clients. Standardized staking assets also saw a 36% increase during the same period. BitGo stated that this increase reflects a rise in the adoption rate among institutional clients. The standardized metrics are used to gauge actual asset flows while minimizing the impact of cryptocurrency price fluctuations, serving as indicators for assessing customer base and usage scale. BitGo is well-known in the custody and institutional infrastructure sectors, and it was recently reported that it replaced WBTC cross-chain service provider with Chainlink CCIP. Additionally, BitGo's custody wallet was mentioned in the asset movements of Alameda Research and the FTX bankruptcy wallet, with 200,180 Solana worth approximately $15.2 million transferred to BitGo. Following a 15% workforce reduction in June, BitGo is pursuing further cost-cutting measures, with an annual cash savings target of around $15 million. CFO Edward Rejnell is set to leave the company on September 15.
