Brale Launches ION Protocol to Address Stablecoin Liquidity Bottlenecks
Brale has launched the ION Protocol, allowing stablecoins to achieve cross-chain functionality by destroying tokens on the source chain and minting an equivalent amount on the target chain, without the need to pre-fund liquidity pools on each supported chain. Currently, it supports over 100 stablecoin projects across more than 30 blockchains. As the number of custom stablecoins and blockchains increases, the capital locked in traditional liquidity pools or wrapped token models is also rising. ION employs a burn-and-mint mechanism similar to Circle's CCTP, aimed at any participating stablecoin issuers. The protocol will first launch on the testnet in collaboration with partners such as Monad, Rain, Coinflow, Turnkey, Etherfuse, Spark, and Canton, before expanding its deployment.
