The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) held an artificial intelligence forum on October 29, where Chair Rostin Behnam stated that the integration of superintelligence with cryptocurrency could change the market, with AI agents leading the market towards autonomous trading. He raised regulatory questions, including whether AI agent developers need to register, who is liable when agents go out of control, how regulators can identify the representation of agents, and whether a new "Know Your Agent" (KYA) identification mechanism is necessary. Behnam pointed out that CFTC staff have widely used AI to monitor the derivatives market, and the formulation of cryptocurrency rules could serve as a reference for addressing these issues. No new AI rules or guidelines were announced at the forum.
