coinbilly Acquires Invisible Friends in Full
coinbilly has fully acquired the brand Invisible Friends, which includes smart contracts, intellectual property, remaining inventory, and After Effects files. coinbilly stated that it began working with the brand five years ago and has been pushing for the acquisition for more than two years, during which it communicated with multiple lawyers. Invisible Friends features 5,000 invisible characters that walk in loops, with viewers only able to see the characters' clothing or items they hold. The project released a teaser in November 2021, with early team members including coinbilly, James Curran, and developer mikker. On February 23, 2022, the project raised $1.3 million through a charity auction, distributing funds to 13 charities, with a public minting floor price of 12 ETH and a trading volume of approximately 10,000 to 15,000 ETH. The project has collaborated with Shopify, Snapchat, Sotheby's, and Kith. coinbilly stated that it will focus on developing physical products, character animations, experimental digital content, and brand collaborations in the future, aiming to introduce the brand to users who have never encountered NFTs. Holders will receive priority benefits, and coinbilly plans to launch a free commemorative open version for holders, while also answering questions on Discord and X, scheduled to stream live on Twitch at 1 PM Eastern Time the following afternoon.
