This week, global financial markets are at a critical turning point as the earnings announcements of big tech companies coincide with the monetary policy meetings of the Federal Reserve (Fed) and the Bank of England (BOE). Microsoft and Meta are set to release their earnings on the 29th, while Apple and Amazon will follow on the 30th. The performance of the Magnificent Seven is being closely watched as a key variable to gauge the sustainability of the AI investment cycle. Recently, there has been a stock price adjustment due to concerns over the burden of AI investment costs and increased capital expenditures, although some analysts believe that valuation pressures have eased. Currently, the 12-month forward price-to-earnings ratio (PER) of the Magnificent Seven is approaching its lowest level in the past seven years. The Fed and BOE are facing decisions on interest rates, with the market reflecting the possibility of a rate hike by the Fed. JP Morgan has assessed that the speed of interest rate increases will have a greater impact on the stock market. Experts are wary of various risk events this week that could increase volatility, and Goldman Sachs has noted that VIX call options could serve as an effective risk hedging tool.
