There are ongoing speculations about the development entity behind Ox Alpha, initially thought to be the GLM series from China's Z.ai, with later mentions of Microsoft's MAI potential. In OpenRouter's coding model rankings for August 2026, Ox Alpha ranked second with 7.51T tokens. Usage differs from performance certification, and the free offering conditions may have increased initial call volumes.
