Robinhood and Crypto.com Join Forces in Prediction Markets: Strategic Agreement and Cross-Shareholdings
Robinhood further strengthens its strategy in the prediction market sector with a new agreement with Crypto.com. The company will integrate event contracts from OG.com onto its platform and, at the same time, acquire minority stakes in both the Crypto.com exchange and the business dedicated to prediction markets.
The agreement represents a new step in the growing competition to capture a sector that is increasingly attracting financial operators and crypto platforms in the United States.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Robinhood Markets has reached a multi-year agreement with Crypto.com to integrate event contracts offered through OG.com—the prediction market platform linked to the exchange.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. However, the agreement also includes a particularly significant element: Robinhood will acquire minority stakes in both Crypto.com and the OG business dedicated to prediction markets.
The two companies had been discussing possible collaboration methods for some time to expand Robinhood's offerings in this segment.
Through the integration, users will have access to a wider range of event contracts, financial instruments whose value depends on the occurrence of a specific event.
The mechanism is relatively simple: a user can purchase a "Yes" contract if they believe a certain outcome will occur or a "No" contract if they think otherwise. Prices, generally ranging from $0.01 to $0.99, reflect the implied probability assigned by the market to the event.
The agreement with Crypto.com comes as Robinhood is increasingly investing in prediction markets, which have quickly become an important component of its expansion strategy.
The company launched its Prediction Markets Hub in March 2025, initially offering contracts through Kalshi. Since then, the infrastructure has been progressively expanded.
In November of the same year, Robinhood also announced a joint venture with Susquehanna International Group to operate an exchange and a clearinghouse regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). In January 2026, the joint venture completed the acquisition of MIAXdx.
Subsequently, Robinhood began routing some contracts through Rothera, the exchange linked to the joint venture.
During the 2026 World Cup, for example, the platform significantly expanded its offerings by introducing contracts related to individual matches, group and tournament winners, players, and other sports outcomes.
The company now considers this segment one of the businesses with the greatest growth potential. In the results for the fourth quarter of 2025, Robinhood described prediction markets as the fastest-growing business in the company's history, with a run rate exceeding $300 million in the first year.
The partnership also represents a strategic opportunity for Crypto.com, which is rapidly expanding its prediction market business.
In February 2026, the company launched OG, a separate platform dedicated specifically to prediction markets. Since then, the company has entered into several agreements to expand the distribution of its contracts.
In June, OG extended its presence to the New York market, allowing users to trade contracts related to sports and global events through an infrastructure regulated by the CFTC.
More recently, Crypto.com and OG.com have also formed partnerships with other operators.
On September 1, for example, Prospect Markets announced a definitive agreement with OG Prediction Markets and Crypto.com Derivatives North America to offer event-based contracts in the United States through its platform.
Trading Technologies has also announced the integration of connectivity with OG.com, expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 and aimed particularly at institutional operators.
The collaboration between Robinhood and Crypto.com may also extend beyond just event contracts.
According to information reported by the Wall Street Journal, the two companies are also considering additional financial products, including perpetual futures linked to stocks, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.
Robinhood's stake in Crypto.com also deepens the relationship between the two companies beyond a simple commercial partnership.
For Crypto.com, the agreement comes at a particularly important time. The company is reportedly preparing for a potential initial public offering (IPO), although no official timeline has been communicated yet.
