SSV Labs Proposes Extension of Network Hosting Services to Mid-2027
The core developers of the Ethereum staking protocol SSV Network, SSV Labs, have submitted the DIP-59 proposal to extend the network hosting service period from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027. Due to the impact of market conditions and the financial status of the DAO, the scope of the proposal has been reduced compared to previous years, focusing on maintenance rather than expansion. SSV Labs will be responsible for maintaining the implementation of the protocol, ensuring the network has the capability to respond to forks, maintaining the current mainnet smart contracts, and ensuring the normal operation of various operational and user functionality modules. In terms of budget, a request of $1.5 million USDC is made for 2026, and a request of 2.7 million SSV tokens for the first half of 2027. The proposal also grants SSV Labs first-priority collateral rights over the $900,000 funds held by the SSV Foundation.
