The former CEO of Hodlnaut faces 20 years in prison due to the Terra collapse, charged with 6 counts of fraud
According to Cryptopolitan, the former CEO of the Singaporean crypto lending platform Hodlnaut, Zhu Juntao, has been charged with six counts of fraudulent misrepresentation for allegedly misleading users about the exposure to TerraUSD. Hodlnaut invested $317 million from user accounts into Terra's Anchor Protocol without disclosure, resulting in a loss of $189.7 million after the UST collapse. When the platform shut down in August 2022, it owed users approximately $281 million, with assets of only $88 million, creating a shortfall of about $193 million.
Prosecutors allege that Zhu Juntao instructed employees to make false promises in official Telegram groups and emails during and after the UST collapse, including claims that the company had not invested in LUNA or UST and had not suffered losses. Zhu Juntao pleaded not guilty in court, and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for June 2026. If convicted, each charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Apple Foldable Event Nears | WEEX TradFi Daily(September 9, 2026)
Global markets are focused on Apple’s fall product event, firmer energy prices, and the renewed valuation pressure on risk assets. Apple shares retreated ahead of the launch as investors weighed foldable-device pricing, on-device AI monetization, and potential sell-the-news volatility. Energy equities benefited from supply-risk repricing, which also reinforced sticky-inflation concerns and a higher-for-longer rates narrative. In crypto, bitcoin eased toward the mid-$78,000 range; although spot ETF inflows remain supportive, positioning has turned more defensive in the face of rising hike expectations. After the close, AeroVironment earnings and Apple’s product details could shape the next move across tech and thematic trades.
