Forbes What To Watch This Weekend: New Shows And Movies To Stream On Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Apple TV And More By Erik Kain Alright, it’s Wordle time! Play Puzzles & Games on Forbes How To Solve Today’s Wordle The Hint: Popular choice for fishermen. The Clue: This Wordle has a double letter. Okay, spoilers below! . . . The Answer: Today’s Wordle Wordle Analysis Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here . I’m a little sad because I very nearly got this one in three. If only I’d swapped the S and the T! STORE was a lucky opener, leaving me with 28 remaining words. LAYUP slashed this down to just two, though Wordle Bot had a stroke or something because when I was checking my score after getting the answer, even though it showed me having 2 words left, it gave me text saying I only had one. Clearly that wasn’t the case! I think I thought of PASTY instead of PATSY because when I was coming up with my second guess I thought of NASTY and HASTY and other AST words. Oh well, it was PATSY in the end. I’ll take all the blame for that. Competitive Wordle Score Today’s Wordle Bot I get 1 point for guessing in three and so does the Bot. We each get 0 for tying. This brings our May totals to: Erik: 6 point Wordle Bot: 0 points How To Play Competitive Wordle Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points. If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day. Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative. You can keep a running tally or just play day-by-day. Enjoy! Today’s Wordle Etymology The word trout comes from the Old English truht which in turn comes from Late Latin tructa. It’s likely that tructa was derived from the Greek trōktēs which means “a gnawer” (from trōgein, or “to gnaw). This likely relates to the fish’s sharp, nibbling teeth.
