Vitalik Buterin Introduces Paranoid Mode for AI Agent
Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, unveiled a "paranoid mode" for his AI agent on October 16, aimed at concealing user identity and financial details. The code has been released publicly and is currently in a testing phase. AI agents can potentially disclose sensitive financial information, and Buterin addresses this challenge with four methods: using the Tor network to hide IP addresses, generating fake requests to obscure real traffic, rewriting prompts with a local AI model, and employing the zkAPI system to prove payments without revealing identity. This payment system operates on the Ethereum mainnet and accepts deposits in assets like ETH and USDC. Buterin stated that the system has reached a usable level, but complete anonymity remains challenging. He also noted the possibility of real requests being identified by AI service providers. For investors, the question is whether AI private payments will be cheap and fast enough to be used in trading tools and financial services.
