Yen Coin Payment Volume Increases by 30% Monthly, Expansion of QR Payments and Remittance Services
At the 'WebX 2026' event held in Tokyo, Japan, discussions were held on the utilization of Yen Coin for payments and remittances. The number of users of Japan's largest non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet, 'HashWallet', has reached 1.15 million, and a feature for issuing the Yen-based stablecoin JPYC has been added. The stablecoin payment service 'HashPay' from HashPort has a monthly transaction volume of approximately 1 billion yen, growing by more than 30% each month. Binance Japan is utilizing 'Binance Pay' for QR payments and remittances, while SlashVision has launched the 'Slash Card', which allows the use of the dollar-based stablecoin USDC. NetStars has unveiled a stablecoin payment service that supports USDC, Tether (USDT), and JPYC. The introduction of blockchain technology is expected to bring changes to the corporate finance market, and discussions are underway for the launch of Japan's first cryptocurrency ETF, targeted for January 2028. The Japanese political sphere is prioritizing Yen Coin and blockchain-based finance as key national issues and is pushing for regulatory improvements.
