Altria Group Raises Dividend to $1.11 per Share, Yielding 6.4%
Altria Group announced a 4.7% increase in its quarterly dividend, raising it from $1.06 to $1.11 per share (4 Cedears). With this new payment, the annualized dividend reaches $4.44 per share, representing a dividend yield of approximately 6.4% annually, higher than the average of the U.S. market. The next dividend will be paid on October 9, 2026, to shareholders registered by September 15. Altria has a history of 57 consecutive years of annual dividend increases, positioning it among the most consistent companies in cash distribution to its shareholders. The company also reaffirmed its goal of maintaining a mid-single-digit annual dividend growth until 2028, aiming to attract investors interested in recurring income. However, the high yield reflects the challenges facing the traditional business, as Altria experiences a structural decline in cigarette consumption and seeks to offset this with the development of non-combustible nicotine products.
