Chainlink Launches 24/7 RWA and Stock Price Data Service, Aave as Initial Adopter
New Oracle Chainlink 24/7 Fills the Gaps on Non-Business Days
Chainlink, a leading oracle network, has announced a new service called "Chainlink 24/7" that provides continuous price information for tokenized real-world assets (RWA), including stocks and commodities, without interruption, even on market holidays and weekends.

Chainlink 24/7 delivers continuous market data for equities, commodities, and other real-world assets across trading sessions, weekends, and market holidays, enabling: → Prediction markets and perpetual futures with 24/7 trading and settlement → Lending protocols that manage tokenized collateral when traditional markets close → Investors to manage position risk around the clock @aave is adopting Chainlink 24/7 to bring always-on pricing to institutional RWA lending. Chainlink 24/7 launches at Link:NYC, unlocking always-on pricing for tokenized RWAs. Chainlink 24/7 delivers continuous market data for equities, commodities, and other real-world assets across trading sessions, weekends, and market holidays, enabling:
Additionally, it has been revealed that Aave, a major player in DeFi (decentralized finance), has adopted this service as an initial partner.
The newly launched price distribution service by Chainlink covers time periods when traditional exchanges are closed, such as weekends, holidays, and nighttime. Previously, price updates were halted during the closing hours of markets like the U.S. stock market (from Friday night to Sunday night). As a result, various applications on-chain were forced to deal with "market pauses," "maintaining the latest price," and "developing their own pricing calculation logic," making weekend risk management a challenge.
The new mechanism aggregates and integrates trading data from multiple perpetual futures exchanges during market closures to create a single uninterrupted price series. By incorporating filtering functions to exclude outliers and smoothing techniques, it enables stable RWA price calculations even outside of regular hours.
Aave Adopts for Stabilizing RWA Collateral Valuation
Aave, a leading lending protocol, has quickly adopted this 24/7 oracle service. Aave will utilize Chainlink 24/7 for valuing tokenized assets deposited as collateral on its lending platform, Horizon, aimed at institutional investors. Initially, it is expected to be applied sequentially to high-volume U.S. stocks.
Traditionally, the halting of RWA evaluations outside of market hours directly correlated with the risk of insolvency for DeFi protocols. By introducing always-available oracle data, accurate liquidation assessments and collateral ratio monitoring can be conducted even on weekends and holidays, significantly enhancing the overall safety of the platform.
Expansion to On-Chain Derivatives and Liquidation Protocols
Chainlink cites the primary applications of this service as not only institutional lending but also 24/7 operational prediction markets, perpetual futures trading, derivatives, and various asset management vaults.
Major platforms like Coinbase and Robinhood are already advancing efforts in the evaluation and collateral utilization of tokenized stocks, and with the complete non-stop market data now available, the establishment of a new DeFi trading environment that is not bound by traditional financial hours is expected to accelerate.
Moreover, in terms of regulation, the CFTC (U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission) is discussing 24/7 derivatives trading, indicating a shift towards a 24-hour market, including traditional regulatory authorities. The continuous availability of oracle data is likely to become a crucial infrastructure for the future expansion of the RWA market.
