Citrini Research founder James van Geelen has sold the company to SemiAnalysis, with the transaction amount undisclosed. Van Geelen will continue to serve as CEO of Citrini and plans to raise a new fund. Citrini has approximately 260,000 subscribers on Substack and gained popularity for its report "The 2028 Global Intelligence Crisis," which explores the impact of AI on white-collar jobs, sparking market discussions and affecting software stocks. SemiAnalysis, founded by Dylan Patel in 2020, focuses on semiconductor and AI infrastructure research. This acquisition aims to expand research capabilities and explore new investment research forms in the AI era. Van Geelen did not disclose specific details about the new fund, and the transaction will further integrate Citrini's research capabilities with those of SemiAnalysis.
