Digital Renminbi Operations Management Center Interprets DCEPS Supporting Digital Currency Technology Foundation
The Digital Renminbi Operations Management Center interprets two core achievements: the Central Bank's Digital Currency Electronic Payment System (DCEPS) and the Digital Renminbi Smart Contract Ecological Service Framework (e-CNY SMART Contract). DCEPS is a comprehensive payment and settlement platform that integrates issuance management, retail, wholesale, blockchain payment, and smart contract services, providing the technical foundation for the Central Bank's Digital Currency Electronic Payment System (CBETS). The e-CNY SMART Contract is designed to meet the needs of digital economic development, establishing a smart contract service system that encourages multi-party participation and open collaboration, and has been implemented in scenarios such as prepaid fund management, supply chain finance, fiscal subsidies, consumption red envelopes, and wage distribution for migrant workers. The digital renminbi has upgraded from cash-based version 1.0 to deposit currency version 2.0 as of January 1, 2026. DCEPS and CBETS are operated and constructed by the Digital Renminbi Operations Management Center and the International Operations Center, respectively.
