Fake Security Email Targets Trezor Users
Users of Trezor have received a fake email that appears to be sent from a legitimate company email domain. Trezor, which has 2 million users, warns against opening any links in the message. The company has disabled the domain used and is investigating the attack. The fake email, with the subject line 'Critical Security Alert: STM32 Entropy Vulnerability', claims that a serious issue makes some Trezor devices unsafe and urges recipients to check their device via a link. Trezor confirms that this alert did not come from them and that it is an attempted scam. Recipients should not open links or enter their wallet backup online, as this could lead to the loss of their crypto wallet. A seemingly trustworthy sender address does not guarantee that a message is safe. Trezor advises users to check security alerts directly through their official website or X account. The company has not yet disclosed how many people received the fake email or which external mail service was affected.
