Genesis Digital Assets Transforms into AI Data Center
Bitcoin mining company Genesis Digital Assets is transitioning into an AI data center. SWI Group acquired a significant stake in the company for $500 million in June this year, becoming the majority shareholder. On October 12, SWI announced it had raised €800 million (approximately $900 million) for the upgrade and expansion of the data center. SWI plans to leverage Genesis Digital's data centers in Texas, North and South Carolina, and Sweden to provide computing power for large cloud service providers and sell off the remaining assets from its Kazakhstan mining operations.
