Government Raised 343 Billion UAH from Government Bonds, Portfolio with Individuals 109.7 Billion UAH
Since the beginning of 2026, the government has raised over 343 billion UAH from the sale and exchange of government bonds at auctions. The portfolio of military bonds held by individuals amounted to 109.7 billion UAH. From January to August 2026, the government attracted 288 billion UAH, 452 million USD, and 696.7 million EUR from the placement of government bonds, directing 239.5 billion UAH, 650 million USD, and 557.8 million EUR towards repayment. Since the start of the full-scale invasion until August 31, 2026, 1.77 trillion UAH, 11.24 billion USD, and 3.94 billion EUR were raised at primary auctions, with 1.24 billion UAH, 12.15 billion USD, and 3.48 billion EUR directed towards repayment. As of September 1, 2026, the total portfolio of government bonds is as follows: for legal entities - 1.17 trillion UAH, for individuals - 163.0 billion UAH, for non-residents - 17.2 billion UAH. The largest volume of military government bonds is held by banks, with the portfolio of legal entities (excluding banks) amounting to 85.8 billion UAH. Individuals own military government bonds worth 109.7 billion UAH compared to 78.7 billion UAH on September 1, 2025. Military government bonds held by non-residents total 4.8 billion UAH, 13.1 million USD, and 10 million EUR.
