Greenhouse Tomatoes Prices Drop Again in Ukraine to 25-50 UAH/kg
In Ukraine, the decline in prices for greenhouse tomatoes has resumed. Favorable weather conditions in most regions have accelerated the harvest of vegetables, increasing supply and exceeding demand. Prices for quality products have fallen by an average of 17%, now ranging from 25 to 50 UAH/kg. Difficulties in sales are related to the quality of the tomatoes, which are suffering from sunburn and cracks due to heat and drought. Despite the price drop, greenhouse tomatoes are still on average 15% more expensive than last year due to an overall reduction in production. In January 2026, the price was around 90 UAH/kg, rising to 175 UAH/kg by mid-April, after which a decline began. By the end of August, the average price approached 40 UAH/kg. In late August of last year, the price dropped to 35 UAH/kg, then rose to 90 UAH/kg by the end of the year. In 2024, the peak in April was around 130 UAH/kg, while in July-August, the price fell to 35 UAH/kg. In August 2023, greenhouse tomatoes were priced at about 15 UAH/kg, marking the lowest figure in the specified years.
