Institutional Investors Show Record Interest in XRP Token
Institutional investors in XRP brought the token to the forefront of discussions at a meeting of about 400 asset managers: this digital asset received the most questions, although Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, stablecoins, and tokenization were also on the agenda.
XRP Becomes the Main Topic for Asset Managers
The cryptocurrency XRP, associated with the Ripple ecosystem, emerged as the most prominent digital asset in conversations with professional market participants. Experts described the interest as enormous: for many managers, investments in the crypto market remain a new direction, but the attention to XRP was clearly highlighted against other topics.
Notably, the discussion was not limited to just one coin. Managers evaluated several directions:
- Bitcoin
- Ethereum
- Solana
- Stablecoins
- Tokenization
In this context, the heightened attention to XRP became a strong signal for the market, where every institutional investor increasingly views digital assets as a separate direction for their portfolio.
Inflows into XRP Funds Grew for 11 Consecutive Sessions
Institutional presence in XRP-based investment products continues to strengthen. Spot exchange-traded funds in the U.S. showed a net inflow of funds for 11 trading sessions in a row, attracting around $170 million during this time. Since its launch in November, the total inflow has reached $1.68 billion.
An XRP ETF is an exchange-traded fund through which an investor gains exposure to XRP in a familiar market wrapper. For institutions, this tool simplifies access to the token, helps increase liquidity, and can support the price over the long term. However, sharp inflows and outflows in ETFs can amplify short-term fluctuations.
The series stopped on September 2: investors withdrew $7.2 million from XRP funds. In comparison, Bitcoin and Ethereum-based funds lost more on the same day: outflows amounted to $14.3 million and $47.6 million, respectively.
Major Holders and Market Expectations
Institutional investors are large professional market participants who manage significant client capital or their own reserves. They include banks, investment funds, pension funds, insurance companies, and hedge funds.
As of the second quarter, among the largest known institutional positions in XRP were:
- Goldman Sachs --- $87.4 million.
- Jane Street --- $16.6 million.
- Millennium Management --- $16.2 million.
At the same time, 67% of the managers present at the meeting had not yet invested in cryptocurrencies. However, 60% of them plan to add digital assets to their portfolios within the next year, anticipating price growth. In this logic, managers are looking not only at price dynamics but also at market capitalization, liquidity, and the ability to account for the token as an asset (accounting) in the investment portfolio structure.
In a market where Litecoin and other crypto assets compete alongside XRP, and where large players like Grayscale support interest in the industry, the interest of professional managers appears particularly significant. Investments in digital assets are increasingly transitioning from the experimental zone to the realm of regular analysis.

Why XRP is Attractive to Institutional Investors
XRP attracts institutional investors primarily due to its practical aspects: fast transfers, low fees, technological integration with the Ripple ecosystem, and partnerships around payment infrastructure make the token a clear candidate for settlement scenarios. Against the backdrop of Bitcoin, which is often seen as a major market benchmark, and Ethereum, around which many applications are built, XRP stands out for its payment purpose.
For large participants, speed and fees are not the only considerations. They look at liquidity, market capitalization, regulatory environment, technological updates, partnerships, and legal disputes with the SEC: these factors influence both the price of XRP and the willingness to include it in portfolios.
Scenarios for XRP in 2026
In 2026, a positive scenario for XRP is linked to increased liquidity, stable demand from funds, clearer regulation, and the development of partnerships. If these factors strengthen, institutional recognition of the token may grow alongside interest in XRP-based investment products.
Risks remain significant: regulatory pressure, market volatility, technological failures, and liquidity shortages can dampen demand. Legal proceedings with the SEC are particularly important for trust: the less legal uncertainty, the easier it is for large players to coordinate the purchase, storage, and accounting of XRP; prolonged disputes, on the other hand, increase caution.
What Stablecoins and Tokenization Mean
A stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency whose value is pegged to reserves of real assets, such as the U.S. dollar or gold. This model reduces volatility and makes the coin more convenient for transactions.
Tokenization is the process of converting rights to a real asset, such as real estate, stocks, or gold, into a digital token on the blockchain. This approach helps to fractionalize ownership, simplify transactions, and accelerate the transfer of rights without unnecessary intermediaries.
