Kyiv Forms Food and Water Reserves in Case of Outages
In Kyiv, reserves of essential products and drinking water are being formed in anticipation of prolonged power outages during the heating season of 2026-2027. The city plans to purchase 20,000 food packages to assist low-income individuals and those in difficult life circumstances. In the event of extended outages, food will be distributed to resilience points and workers involved in emergency rescue operations. With the support of charitable organizations, hot meals will be organized for 25,000 people. The reserves are being formed as part of the work of the Humanitarian Headquarters of Kyiv, which coordinates the accumulation and distribution of resources. The Kyiv City State Administration noted that food fairs will continue to be held. In August, Kyiv already reported on the formation of a winter reserve and the revision of supply logistics. From January to July, approximately 100 tons of food and 500,000 essential goods were delivered to those affected and social institutions.
