Ripple Launches Institutional Infrastructure Integration for Banks in Asia

Ripple has integrated with SettleMint to address the challenges banks face when transferring assets on-chain. This partnership aims to consolidate custody, issuance, compliance, reconciliation, and service processes into a single operational structure. The integration has been implemented in Asia, and Ripple Custody will be responsible for the security and governance of institutional assets. SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform facilitates the management of tokenized assets. The Boston Consulting Group predicts that digital real-world assets could reach $88 trillion by 2035. However, the SettleMint partnership is not seen as a direct adoption of XRP, and participating banks are not required to use XRP. This development stands out as Ripple's move to expand its presence in the institutional sector. A key indicator to watch in the markets will be when a financial institution begins using this integrated structure in a production environment.
