The Smarter Web Bitcoin Strategy Head to Retire in September
The head of Bitcoin strategy at The Smarter Web Company, Jesse Myers, will retire effective September 1. The company stated that its Bitcoin financial policy will remain unchanged and that the board will continue to oversee it. CEO Andrew Webley expressed gratitude for Jesse's contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors. The reasons for his retirement and the appointment of a successor have not been disclosed. The Smarter Web is a UK tech company traded on the London Stock Exchange, US OTCQB, and Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the tickers SWC, TSWCF, and 3M8, respectively. It provides web design, development, and online marketing services and adopted a Bitcoin payment acceptance policy in 2022. In a disclosure on August 3, the company announced that it had purchased an additional 11.89 Bitcoins as part of its '10-year plan,' bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 2,712. The average purchase price for the additional Bitcoins was £40,052 or $63,328 per BTC, with a total expenditure of £559,493. The company stated that the total withdrawal limit for its Coinbase credit facility remains at £18.5 million, with collateral being its existing Bitcoin holdings. The personnel announcement on the 25th only contained information about maintaining the Bitcoin financial policy, with no mention of a new head appointment or organizational restructuring.
