Trump to Honor Tech Executives Including Musk and Huang
President Trump will honor several tech executives at the Science: A New Golden Age Summit on Thursday. The White House confirmed that SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, and AMD CEO Lisa Su will receive the National Medal of Science, while Dell founder Michael Dell and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will receive the National Medal of Technology and Innovation. White House Assistant Press Secretary Liz Huston stated that the Trump administration appreciates the contributions of these science and technology leaders, who have helped ensure America's leadership in innovation. The summit comes just over a week after Trump hosted a lunch focused on artificial intelligence at the White House, where he mentioned signing a morally binding document with tech leaders. The awardees have all financially supported Trump or the Republican Party; Musk contributed over $290 million during the 2024 election cycle, Brin attended the inauguration and donated hundreds of thousands to the Republican National Committee, Huang donated to the fund for the construction of the White House banquet hall, NVIDIA donated $1 million to the inauguration, and Dell and his wife pledged $6.25 billion to provide seed funding for Trump Accounts, with AMD also contributing to Trump-related funds.
