AI Created 1 Million Jobs in the U.S. Since 2023
Artificial intelligence has contributed to the creation of approximately 1 million jobs in the United States since 2023, with only 200,000 job losses, according to an analysis by The Economist. In August, the U.S. economy added 162,000 jobs, keeping the unemployment rate at 4.1%, a historically low level. Annual spending related to AI exceeds $500 billion compared to 2022, with data center growth surpassing $75 billion per year. This has led to a strong demand for electricians and technicians, with salaries 40% above average. A new class of white-collar jobs is emerging around AI, with job postings increasing by nearly 100% between 2023 and 2024. However, customer service jobs have decreased by about 10% since January 2023. Ronnie Chatterji from OpenAI emphasizes that the impact of AI is manifested in the transformation of tasks rather than an increase in unemployment.
