Eight Ukrainians Arrested in Poland for Money Laundering of 337 Million Zlotys
Eight Ukrainian citizens have been arrested in Poland on suspicion of participating in an international criminal organization that laundered money obtained from investment fraud and cryptocurrency scams. A total of nine individuals have been detained, including a citizen of Belarus. According to law enforcement, the group laundered over 337 million zlotys (approximately 3.9 billion UAH). The leader of the group is believed to be a 34-year-old Ukrainian who coordinated financial operations in Poland and abroad, using currency exchange offices and fictitious gold purchase transactions to conceal the origin of the money. The arrests took place in Warsaw, Łódź, and the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. During the searches, cash and gold worth over 1 million zlotys, as well as electronic devices, were seized. The court has assigned two or three months of detention for seven of the detainees, while two others were given bail and restrictions on leaving the country. The suspects face up to 15 years in prison.
