Park Min-kyu to hold forum on crypto tax timing on Nov. 2
Lawmaker Park Min-kyu will hold a forum at the National Assembly on Nov. 2 to discuss the weakening competitiveness in South Korea’s digital asset market and potential institutional reforms. The event, titled 'Coin Exodus, No Longer Something We Can Leave Unchecked - Emergency Review of the Competitiveness of South Korea’s Digital Asset Market in the AI Era and Institutional Reform Measures', is scheduled for 5:00 a.m. UTC in a small conference room on the basement first floor of the National Assembly Library. Government officials will attend, and the head of the Income Tax Policy Division at the finance ministry will gather insights from experts and industry officials amid ongoing debates about delaying the planned January 2027 rollout of virtual asset taxation.
